Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Died in an LA Car Crash
The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has died in a vehicle crash in California he was 55 years old.
Zampella's death was verified by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio which he helped establish.
The influential industry figure lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and was engulfed in flames on a highway in Los Angeles on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.
"This represents an unimaginable loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," an official with Electronic Arts said.
