English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.

These three athletes have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the very first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a historic innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The finalists were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.

The ceremony will be televised from 19:00 GMT.

Michelle Agyemang

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She entered the fray to score key tying goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Afterwards, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this honour is incredible," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

And he wasn't finished there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.

"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
