The former Liverpool manager says coming back to manage Liverpool is conceivable.

Jurgen Klopp, who departed from Liverpool in 2024, remarked that rejoining the club remains an option. The 58-year-old, following a hugely successful nine-year spell featuring Champions League success and the Reds’ first league title in 30 years, currently occupies positions in a global football capacity within the Red Bull organization and as an advisor for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

They secured the Premier League last season, but many fans who adore the manager would embrace the possibility that he may eventually return. Speaking candidly, he shared with Steven Bartlett: “I said I will never coach any other side in England. Which implies in case it's my former club...yes. In theory, it could happen.”

“Being 58, which suggests I could make the decision in a few years, I don’t know. Must I choose now? If so, I wouldn't return. Fortunately, it's not necessary. I'll wait and observe what the future brings.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

Pressed on which situations must arise to draw him back to the touchline, he revealed he was not instantly drawn for a comeback. “I don’t even know exactly, My present work fulfills me,” he said. “I don’t miss coaching; I avoid standing in the rain for lengthy sessions; I don’t miss going to interviews multiple times weekly or doing numerous chats weekly.

“I don’t miss the dressing room in that context, however, dining out alongside the squad talking freely, I appreciate that. We won a lot of games thus frequently positive atmosphere around the place. Remaining with me is Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh vividly recalled to illustrate.”

Praise for His Successor

Klopp was full of praise of the current boss, crediting him due to the changes that won the league last term. The team has suffered four in a row in every contest following significant transfers, though he denied the notion of it representing a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if spoken against. A remarkable prospect. The French striker, incredible player. They have a strong well-judged squad. You don’t have to worry about Liverpool, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

Klopp also spoke emotionally on the loss of the Portuguese star, a player he signed while in charge, along with the consequences for the team. The forward was killed in a road accident with his brother in July.

“How do you replace a person like him? It’s not about his footballing ability, it’s the guy he was. I struggle to conceive the dressing room without him in it. I still cannot speak properly about it. A devastating blow for his teammates also. Not a single person will ever use it as an excuse though it's a fact. You walk in a dressing room where his spirit remains. Dealing with that on a personal level is not easy. Overwhelming.”
