Soccer Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning run was ended by Sunderland prior to the global break, however can the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's latest album, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football side," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously that team's manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

My son advised me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great success on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

Their performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
