LA Erupts in Jubilation as Dodgers Claim Second World Series Championship
The City of Angels experienced citywide celebrations after the Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-game World Series championship. Supporters across the globe joined Angelenos in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a franchise has secured consecutive championships.
Celebration Parade Attracts Massive Crowds
Los Angeles area events included a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at Dodger Stadium, and spontaneous parties across the city.
Online footage depict thousands of Angelenos packing downtown streets, many displaying homemade signs and team flags. The team was seen traveling proudly on a open-top bus through the masses, hoisting the championship trophy high.
“I’m already thinking about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” the star player stated through an interpreter.
The parade route ended at Dodger Stadium, where the team walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard providing music and Ice Cube driving a light blue vintage Cadillac around the stadium’s outfield.

Festivities started prior to the procession, with supporters lighting flares in the roads of the city center on the previous evening.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, commented directly about the win.
“We refuse to lose,” Yamamoto stated. “I adore this team. I love Los Angeles.”

In contrast, Mark Walter was met with a cooler reception at the celebration. Video footage from the gathering appear to show Walter taking the stage to a combination of applause and boos, with jeers punctuating his address.
The World Series served as a positive moment in what has been a challenging year for Los Angeles. An estimated 225,000 people attended to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player one athlete, supporters this year demonstrated as much if not more enthusiasm.
“It seems it’s nearly twice from last year,” he said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a involved in this.”
