Esteemed Star Pat Finn, Known For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.
Stateside entertainer Finn, who featured in iconic television series including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to media reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his family stated in a message.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous well-known programs, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared on social media.
The actor is remembered by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
